Yoga for Eyes

Eyes have muscles that work all the time. Working on the computer all day or focusing on small things really makes your eyes tired. You need to exercise your eyes to keep their strength so they will last a long time. Here is the yoga way to exercise your eyes.

allabouteyes_yogaStep 1. Hand cubbing. Take off your glasses or contact lenses. Rub your plams together to generate warmth and continue rubbing until they feel fairly warm. Then place your palms of your hands over your closed eyes for a minute. While absobing the heat, breath deeply and feel your stomach fill with air deeply.
Step 2. Side to Side. Next put both hands by your sides, open your eyes and move your eye balls to the extreme left. Then move to the right as far as you can. Repeat 4 times. Then, repeat step 1 with a deep breath and take your hands off. Rub hands together until you feel warm and put hands on eye lids again. Relax and deep breath.
Step 3. Diagonal. Move eyeballs from top right to bottom left like you’re crossing your eyes. Repeat 4 times. Then rest by closing your eyes.
Step 4. Clockwise. Move your eyes in a full circle clockwise, then repeat the same action counterclockwise. Repeat 4 times.
Step 5. Up and Down. Move your eyes upward as far as you can. Then move them downwards as far as you can. Repeat this four more times. Close your eyes and rest.
Step 6. Contraction. Close your eyes as tightly as you possibly can, then squeeze the eyes until your eye muscles are fully contracted. Hold this contraction tight for few seconds, then let it go quickly.

This is the perfect way to exercise your eyes and keep them healthy and strain reduction.

My favorite Japanese facial blotting papers

I want to talk aboupink_blackt how much I enjoyed using Japanese  blotting papers. I got this classic pink black design facial blotting papers as a sample when I bought their Thai herbal bath kit. At first, I thought I didn’t need it! I started realized otherwise when I applied it on my face and saw all excess oil that this great blotting paper absorbed – it really convinced me that I need it.

I have been using it this summer everyday. I have combination/oily skin. My cheek area is dry and my forehead is normal, not oily at all during spring and winter. Just during summer, my forehead and nose get extra oily and shiny during the day. Maybe because I apply plenty of sunscreen during this time of the year because I’m so afraid of the strong sun here.

These blotting papers became my essential beauty kit. I like this matchbook type design because it’s light, thin and practical for my small purse. After using I just tuck the the top of pink cover into the bottom black flap to close.

Organic 100% Pure Coffee Bean Eye Cream

100Percent_coffee_bean_eye_creamI have used many kinds of eyecare creams but then they all ran out. I liked HydroPeptide eye cream, but it was discontinued. Nothing is working for my puffy eyes and serious dark cirlces.

After researching and reading reviews , I decided to try 100% Pure Coffee Bean Eye Cream. First of all, it really has good reviews and the price is right. $19 for eye treatment is really hard to find. Plus I love organic products and like all the ingredients used in this natural eye cream such as green tea, rosehip oil, coffee, vitamin E, vitamin C, pure vanilla and rosemary.

I believe that caffeine-rich green tea and coffee will depuff  and reduce swelling under my eyes. Hope it will help reduce my serious dark circles and brighten them up. I’ll be sure to post a review after using it for few weeks.

My magic Thai herbal massage ball!

I have a pain in my side, I don’t know what it is.  I don’t often feel like eating so I’ve lost some weight. My daughter went to Thailand last December and got me this magic Thai herbal massage treatment for a present.

She went to spa treatment in Thailand and she loved these herbal massage balls. Of course she  thought these massage balls might relieve my pain, although I never used Eastern Herbal treatment before. I just thought what the heck.

I learned that inside this massage ball is natural herbs and ingredients from Thailand: plai, lemongrass, galangal,  kaffir lime, tamarind leaves, som poi leaves, plub plung leaves, naad pao lung leaves, pao noi, ya kam hoi, and camphor. It helps to relieve pain muscle aches.

I sprinkled water on the massage ball and warmed in microwave for 1-2 minutes. Then I pressed it on my sore muscles. It felt good and I slept very well. I just found out that heating the ball in the steamer is THE BEST way. It seems to stay hot much longer than when I microwave it so I don’t need to keep reheat it as often. After finishing using it, I keep it in a dry place. Do not keep in the humid place like refridge like my first one – it did not last long.

It’s hard to find these thai herbal massage balls in the U.S. ,but I found the place to buy online. You can check it out at http://cosmetics.pro

Eye drop for your important eyes

Systane-Lubricant-Eye-Drops

I have been trying many brands of eye drops but my eyes always dry out, maybe because of my allergies. It’s hard to find the right eye drop to relieve dry eye problems. And then my eye doctor gave me a sample of Systane Lubricant eye drop, and I’ve been hooked on it ever since. I don’t need to use much of this because once a day seems to be plenty. It keeps my eyes moist all day long. And when I put on eyeshadow, mascara and it won’t irritate my eyes.

To be honest, the price is still expensive even though I bought a big 2-pack from Costco. Recently my husband got another brand “Refresh Plus Eye Drop” from Costco because of the price hoping it would be the same as Systane, but it’s not. I have to keep applying it throughout the day. I’m using a computer all day, so my eyes dry out and I need to keep putting in my eye drops.

Now I realize that Systane is the only eye drop that can keep my eyes moist. I’m going to go back to using Systane when this bottle runs out.

Combination Waterproof Mascara and Eyeliner Combination

Mistine_MascaraEyeLinerSince I began using Mistine combination eyeshadow and eyeliner, I started to love Mistine products. I recently tried Combination Pro Long Waterproof Mascara & Eyeliner Pen. It’s affordable, practical, and fits in my small purse. It lengthens lashes, doesn’t clump and comes off with water.  And it’s easy to remove with makeup remover. I can retouch my makeup anytime I want. Mascara color is beautiful and it’s definitely worth a try!

Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towelletes

Kirkland_FacialCleansingTowI got these Kirkland Facial Cleansing Towelettes from Costco a couple of months ago. I got a coupon and they were on sale, so I decided to give them a try. It’s a really good deal when you buy with the coupon.

The unique thing about these cleansing towels is that there’s no need to rinse them off.  They work as both cleanser, makeup remover and moisturizer at the same time. You just use one and leave it on, and it makes your facial skin moist. I use one to remove my makeup when I get back home after going out for a few hours in the morning. I hate to keep my make up on all day. I always remove makeup right away when I get home. It’s really worth the money.

These are gentle enough to remove make up and eyeshadow and mascara from my sensitive eyes. They’re soothing and refreshing. I love all the ingredients : Chamomile, Triple Tea Complex and Vitamin E – all good stuff for your facial skin. What I like the most about them is that I don’t need to reapply moisturizer anymore – so I save on skincare products. I also love that they come in small packs – so convenient when travelling.

My favorite Duo Eyeshadow and Eye Liner Pen

mistine_duo_eyeshadowliner

I got Mistine Duo eyeshadow and eye liner pen during the trip. It’s really affordable, practical and perfect for my small purse. I can touch up eyeshadow any time I want. I even use it to highlight eyebrow color.  It comesin many colors and I got them all ; gold brown, greenish blue, purple, grey silver.  You can choose to use any color you want for daytime and night time. It’s so convenient – I always keep in my purse. In the morning rush,  I sometimes put my makeup on when in the car or when I stop at the red stop right. I can’t go out without it.

Dr. Brandt Lineless Eye Cream

DrBrandt_LinelessEyeCream

I’ve used Dr. Brandt Lineless Cream before and I love it. I’m always looking for eye treatment because my eyes are often puffy and have dark circles. I tried Dr. Brandt Lineless Eye Cream only at night for few weeks. Seemed like it did the trick. When I woke up, the puffiness under my eyes seemed diminished. After washing my face, I could feel how the eye cream kept my eyes hydrated – no fines lines and dryness under my eye circles.  Maybe I should apply it in the morning too.
